PC PARAMEDIC'S TIPS on Internet Firewalls

1. An Internet firewall program stops hackers from getting access to your computer when you are using the Internet.
2. If you use the Internet it's a good idea to use a firewall. It protect your computer, and stops hackers from using it without your knowledge to attack other computers.
3. Some firewall programs also warn you if a program on your computer (such as a virus or "SpyWare") tries to access the Internet without your consent.
4. Several firewall programs are available, and some are free for personal use. One well known one is ZoneAlarm, available free from http://www.zonelabs.com
5. Windows XP has a simple firewall built in. It will protect your computer from outside attack, but unlike ZoneAlarm will not warn you when programs on your PC access the Internet.
NOTE: ZoneAlarm no longer support Windows 95, but you can use the older version 2.6. Contact me for more information.
